The East Anglian Gundog Society was formed in 1984 by Claude George & Jim Conway, amongst others, holding it's inaugural show in 1985. Despite a few hiccups along the way, including the cancellation of the Autumn show in 1987 due to a hurricane, the Society continues to flourish. We hold two Open Shows every year, and we always schedule classes for every Gundog breed recognised by the Kennel Club, including those breeds on the Import Register classes.
In the past we have held our shows at the July Racecourse & the Rowley Mile Racecouse in Newmarket, Sacrewell Family Farm, Peterborough (just off the A1/A47) and Littleport Leisure Centre, Littleport, Nr Ely, and Rosewood Stud, Nr. Newmarket.
We pride ourselves that we have a tireless committee who work extremely hard, especially on show days, but also all through the year to bring the best Open Show possible.
New members are always welcome and application for membership can be made via the Hon Secretary or via any committee member or on an entry form.
Spectators are also welcome at any of our shows but we would remind everyone that we must abide by Kennel Club regulations and dogs not being exhibited at the show will need to be entered not for competition (at the time of close of entries) or as a spectator dog on the day of the show.
