About us

The East Anglian Gundog Society was formed in 1984 by Claude George & Jim Conway, amongst others, holding it's inaugural show in 1985. Despite a few hiccups along the way, including the cancellation of the Autumn show in 1987 due to a hurricane, the Society continues to flourish. We hold two Open Shows every year, and we always schedule classes for every Gundog breed recognised by the Kennel Club, including those breeds on the A. V. Gundog Imported Register.

Along with the rest of the world, we had to cancel shows in 2020 and 2021 due to the ravages of Covid and restrictions placed on people. We came back with a show on Easter Friday in 2022 and were very pleased to see most of our regular exhibitors again. We are all committed to keeping the two shows a year going, one in spring on Easter Friday and one in the autumn in October even through the most difficult of times.  We pride ourselves on our our small but tireless committee, who work extremely hard, not just on show days but also through the year to bring you the best possible Open Shows.

In the past we have held our shows at the July Racecourse & the Rowley Mile Racecouse in Newmarket, Sacrewell Family Farm, Peterborough (just off the A1/A47) and Littleport Leisure Centre, Littleport, Nr Ely, and Rosewood Stud, Nr. Newmarket.
Our current venue is Horse Creek Farm, March, Cambs.
